Tomasz Guiddo pays homage to the rich legacy of musical symbiosis and interconnection between rap, jazz and house with his latest single 'Live It Up'.

A sizzling collaboration with magnetic MC, philosopher and educator John Robinson (aka "Lil Sci" of legendary east coast hip-hop trio Scienz of Life), the song was heavily inspired by post-bop jazz and the golden age of late 80s/early 90s conscious rap, hip-house and acid jazz-funk infused with contemporary nu-jazz aesthetics.

Cleverly combining the classic stylings of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter and Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers with the Bohemian hip-hop chic of Digable Planets' groundbreaking debut 'Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space)', the lyrical jazz-rap fusion of Guru's landmark 'Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1' album and the heady jazz-house sophistication of St. Germain, the duo creates an energizing party jam effortlessly fueled by Robinson’s uplifting motivational lyrics, commanding Nas-esque raspy vocals and smooth melodic flow and Guiddo’s slinky deep-grooving soundtrack incorporating live and electronic instrumentation.

The 4-track set is rounded out by two mind-blowing reworks by Serbian producer/composer Noternight (aka Aleksandar Milicevic) and eclectic Polish producer/remixer purrppl (aka Filip Macioszek) that brilliantly recast the beatific original into a blistering pair of genre-blurring leftfield future classics.
